About

I aim to balance realism and abstraction using bold, deliberate brushstrokes and playful color combinations. Intuitive mark making, abundant texture, and unapologetic color decisions are the love language of my paintings. I feel most present in front of a canvas, striving to create work that please the eye and evoke an emotional response.

I studied art and art history at New England College and went on to receive my masters in contemporary art at the Sotheby’s Institute in New York.

Before becoming a mom, my work experience was ripe in the arts. I worked with a team of artists after my undergrad in completing a Sol LeWitt mural for the Currier Museum of Art in New Hampshire. While living out West I spent time as a fine art consultant working in galleries where selling and marketing were priority. I worked as an art educator and outreach coordinator for the Art Association of Jackson Hole. I spearheaded countless programs and created artist workshops as well as kids art camps as the Education Director at the Southern Vermont Arts Center.

I spent years working in support of bringing a creative fervor to communities.

While working in these behind-the-scenes positions, providing platforms for artists, I never stopped painting on my own time. When I found myself in the wonderful albeit challenging throes of caring for an infant and toddler (my favorite job yet), naptime became the catalyst in wiping off the dust from my old art supplies.

I live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia with my husband, Joseph; our kids, Lewis (7) and Susanna (5); and our black lab, Dolly.
